Living and Aging in Place

“I want to be able to stay on in my own home as I age.”

Baby Boomers and those just ahead of them in Silicon Valley are clear that we don’t want to move into group homes – we want to stay on in the homes where we have lived.

Yet the health limitations the sometimes accompany aging can gradually redefine what we need in our physical environments.

The Bath Room’s remodeling design services draw upon the research and checklists of such groups as the AARP. We help our clients remodel bathrooms in ways that are artistically and practically delightful now, and at the same time will be adaptable to emerging needs in the coming years.

We offer bathroom remodel features such as “comfort height” toilets, and grab bars for both safety and convenience.  We install walk in bathtubs, and we replace old tubs with easy-entry showers.  We help you consider adaptable furnishings for future contingencies.

We also assist with “Universal Design”, for those with special requirements. Whether it is for someone who is wheelchair bound or someone who would be helped by extra large cabinetry pulls to accommodate arthritic hands, we at The Bath Room are specially trained in Universal Design.

We invite you inquire as to how we can help you stay on comfortably, aging in place in the home
that you love.
